It was business as usual at BroadcastAsia 2009 and CommunicAsia 2009, the largest media and infocomm trade event, as 54,354 attendees congregated for the event. Hailing from about a hundred countries and regions across Asia-Pacific, Europe, the United States and the Middle East, 49% of the attendees came from outside the city-state of Singapore.
The exhibitions featured 1,923 exhibiting companies from 60 countries and regions, spanning 58,000 square meters. It shows a total of 34 group pavilions, with countries like Belgium, Brunei Darussalam and Vietnam participating for the first time.
On the other hand, the exhibitors were pleased with the event. It was an opportunity for them to network and discuss business deals with high quality visitors as the key reason.
BroadcastAsia2009 and CommunicAsia2009 was clearly proven to be the most important platform in the Asia pacific region for the industry to launch products, make announcements and network. They were encouraged more by positive feedbacks from the exhibitors as Mr. Stephen Tan, chief executive of show organizer, Singapore Exhibition Services, said 80 % of them already indicated that they will be participating in the next shows in 2010.
