At the 28th Annual CANTO Conference in Miami, Florida on July 23, 2012, BTI Systems announced the addition of new resellers and an increase in sales of mobile backhaul solutions in the Caribbean and Latin America (CALA) region.
Panama-based Sonitel S.A. is one of the new BTI resellers in CALA. Sonitel provides IT solutions to corporations and enterprises in Central America, and it specializes in access, datacenter, infoware, and networking solutions The Panamanian company has cornered more than 30% of the network market in Central America and more than 20% of the datacenter market. Sonitel will be providing BTI’s complete line of to financial services, government agencies, and service providers.
DIEXTRA will serve as BTI’s reseller in the Dominican Republic. DIEXTRA provides numerous solutions and seasoned technical expertise to Dominican telecommunications service providers. It also offers BTI Systems solutions for Mobile Backhaul, Metro Packet, Optical and Ethernet Business Services.
Telecom service revenue in the Caribbean and Latin American region is expected grow to $143 billion by 2014, according to TeleGeography’s Global Comms Insight Research. In particular, the wireless sector will take the lead thanks to constantly growing demands of wireless and broadband subscribers.
According to Peter Dale, BTI System’s Vice President of Sales, Americas at BTI, the company’s growth with mobile backhaul deployments fits the current global market trend. BTI earlier announced that new North America and APAC (Asia Pacific) mobile backhaul customers increased by more than 85%.
“We look forward to working closely with Sonitel and DIEXTRA to increase Mobile Backhaul and Ethernet Services market penetration in the CALA region,” VP Dale said.
